Starting with low-quality source photographs from a Blackberry can make any project a challenge, but but for print work the problem is doubly vexing because of the need for high resolutions. The solution was to both re-scale the photo and apply overpainting filters to create a look on par with fin de siecle liquor and art posters.

Sami's harness was also airbrushed out for a more natural and friendly look and her bow was redrawn in pen tools and hand-colored.
